Large scale solar, also known as a solar farm, can generate between hundreds of kilowatts (kW) to thousands of megawatts (MW) of solar power. Other terms for large scale solar include solar power plants and utility-scale solar.
Large scale solar uses photovoltaic (PV) technology to generate electricity from a farm or field of solar PV panels. The solar converts the energy from sunlight into direct current. Next, the inverters convert the power into alternating current, which is channelled into the power grid.
